This article is certainly NOT to spark up old beef between Drizzy and Meek… this quick drop is just a matter of opinions thats all. We all know the history between the two artists which we can agree goats 🐐 of this era. The artist had their running back in 2015 when Meek called Drake out for using a ghost writer on R.I.C.O. (song by Meek feat. Drake on Dreams worth more than money album). But again, this drop is not a blast from the past, the two artist have mended their relationship ending the beef coming back together for “Meek. Mill’s “Going Bad” in 2018.
Now let’s get to the shits…. CLB or Expensive Pain????
Drake dropped his highly anticipated album Certified Lover Boy 9/3/21 which he had the top 10 slots on the top 100 billboard for 2 weeks in a row. The Canadian rapper did it once again breaking musical records. A few weeks later (Oct. 1st) Meek Mill drops an album Expensive Pain. Now I’ve personally listened to both, and I’m here to say Expensive Pain bumps harder than CLB; obviously the unpopular opinion but it does.
Who is still listening to CLB? What’s your favorite track? I can almost guarantee it doesn’t compare to any song on Meeks 5th studio album. I’m not even sure how “Way 2 Sexy” even blew up the way it did, that shit so trash. Most people say ohh it’s the beat, its the beat. In the words of my ninja Hov do you listen to music or do you just skim through it? Drake is just a popular artist that appeals to black and white crowds and i feel thats why his music does the numbers it does.
Meek is actually going hard on this album. This album received a 6.8 star review or Pitchfork music reviews. Smh! The disrespect. Listen to track number 3 “On My Soul” that shit hits the soul forreal, might give you chills if you pay attention to the words and relate to where Meek is coming from. This album is truly a great body of work. Might be one of Meeks best albums. In my opinion 2nd best album to drop in 2021 with Lil Durk The Voice being at number 1. More unpopular opinions.
Regardless of which artist you like, both albums have great songs on them. I only wrote this drop because their recent history from 2015 to 2018 and then ironically they both drop an album a month apart in 2021 not featuring each other on their albums. Im actually glad Meek doesn’t have Drizzy on his album. It goes to show, you don’t need the 6 God on your album to have a hit. I wish both artist success however. 2 goats 🐐🐐
